IRO Area

Event Details

In conjunction with Southeastern we will be learning more about high speed railway operations. Starting at St Pancras, some delegates will have the opportunity for a cab ride as we travel to Ashford. There we will see the driver training simulators before looking around the high speed depot. After lunch there will be a visit to Ashford IECC to learn more about the signalling and control sides to HS1. The overall aim of the day is to provide some practical railway operating experience to those IRO members who wish to increase their own knowledge and skills as part of their personal plan for continual professional development. It is especially useful to those members who are currently involved in an IRO academic programme.

Contact: For bookings and further information please contact Gary Mewis by email at se.visits@railwayoperators.org Numbers are strictly limited to 15 delegates so pre-booking is essential. Priority will be given to members who are developing their careers.
