Event Details
‘GSM-R and its impact on operations’, a talk by a member of the project team.
GSM-R is a step change in the way communications between traincrew and signallers/controls are managed, bringing a number of safety and performance benefits. This is the biggest change to communications in the North of England since the introduction of the NRN. However, a project of this scale is not without its challenges, and a great deal of learning has already taken place as GSM-R is rolled out.
This event will see specialists from ATOC and Northern deliver a fascinating insight into this project and how operators and operations will benefit significantly
Time 17:00 for 17:30 start
Bring your colleagues who are not yet IRO members to meet the committee and hopefully to join the IRO.
For further information about the above or any other IRO North East Area activities, please contact Regional Secretary David Monk-Steel at ne.secretary@railwayoperators.co.uk.
