John MacQuarrie, Lead Negotiator for the Department for Transport, and Lawrence Bowman, Head of Business Planning for East Midlands Trains, will explain the franchising and direct award process.
Using the EMT Direct Award as a case study, our speakers will explain the process both bidders and the DfT will go through, its comparisons with a ‘normal’ franchise bid, and the opportunities for a collaborative approach which are presented.
This will be a unique opportunity to understand some of the ‘behind the scenes’ detail which shapes the current passenger rail industry from the perspective of both parties involved.
Refreshments will be available from 17:30 and after the event, plus a group of members usually go for dinner afterwards all are welcome.
