The Government’s Community Rail Development Strategy has provided the UK rail industry and local communities with a framework to improve the effectiveness of local railways in meeting social, environmental and economic objectives. Dan Okey, First Great Western’s Regional Development Manager will provide an exciting overview of Community Rail Partnerships and the work that First Great Western is doing to promote and develop rail travel in the West of England. Prior to Dan’s talk there will be the opportunity to visit Exeter PSB and gain an appreciation of the signalling and movement control of train services in the Exeter Area.

This is an open event, all are welcome to attend. Members of the South West Area Council will be on hand and will be happy to tell you more about the Institution, including events, membership and education programmes.
