Event Details

Time & place: Meet at Derby station concourse at 14:30 hrs

The North East Area Council is pleased to announce our forthcoming visit to Loram UK Ltd’s facility in Derby, where we will be given a tour of the railway vehicle engineering facilities.

Loram UK Ltd (until recently Rail Vehicle Engineering Ltd) specialises in engineering work on railway traction and rolling stock, and offers a full range of engineering solutions, from routine fleet maintenance to the heaviest of vehicle and component re-engineering projects.

This will be of particular interest to those who are keen to further their knowledge of traction and rolling stock engineering, especially as it gives the opportunity to see at first hand how a modern works operates.

Please note everyone must have appropriate footwear (i.e. non-slip soles and steel toe-caps).  Places are limited to 15 for this visit.  Therefore please register as soon as possible, as places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  If a delegate subsequently cannot attend, it is essential that they notify the organiser; late advice or failure to notify may reduce eligibility for subsequent events.

Further details will be given to those who have booked a place.

To reserve a place email your details including membership grade and area to: ne.events@railwayoperators.co.uk.  Members are requested to bring along with them their membership cards.
