Time & place: Meet at Huddersfield station concourse at 17:00hrs

The North East Area Council is pleased to announce an additional event in the 2017 programme: a visit to Huddersfield University Institute of Railway Research, where we will be given a tour of the facilities.

The Institute of Railway Research is a world leading centre in the field of railway engineering. Their research has helped to improve the knowledge of the way in which railway vehicles interact with the track. The Institute has a multi-million pound test rig, the only one of its type in Europe.

The visit will be of particular relevance to anybody interested in railway technology, and especially Young Railway Professionals.

Light refreshments will be provided after the visit at the Head of Steam at Huddersfield station.

Places are limited to 20 for this visit. Therefore please register as soon as possible, as places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If a delegate subsequently cannot attend, it is essential that they notify the organiser; late advice or failure to notify may reduce eligibility for subsequent events. Further details will be given to those who have booked a place.
