The team at Great Western Railway’s Laira Traction & Rolling Stock Maintenance Depot are offering members of the IRO a rare opportunity to visit the depot and gain an appreciation into the world of depot operations and traction maintenance of GWR’s fleet.

Transport will be provided from the station to the depot and members will have the opportunity to experience a close view of HST power car heavy maintenance being undertaken on the depot.

Places are strictly limited at this event. Priority will be given to current students on the IRO education programmes. Please note that due to the nature of work carried out on the depot safety footwear is required and railway approved Hi-Vis vests will be required (may be supplied if required).
