Visit to Cadder yard hosted by Leona Wilson, Project Operations & Interface Specialist, Network Rail Infrastructure Projects.
The former freight yard at Cadder is now the main construction depot for the £742M Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Programme which aims to deliver by end-2016 a faster, greener, higher-capacity electrified railway between Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street via Falkirk High, with branches to follow reaching Stirling, Dunblane and Alloa.
Matthew Spence will explain the challenges in delivering to timescale and budget the effective rebuilding of a busy network while minimising the impact on daily operations.
