Event Details

Please arrive at 14:15 for 14:30 start.

Glasgow Central is one of Britain’s great stations, and this tour establishes it as a tourist destination in its own right. Clearly visible at platform level is how the 1906 extension was added to the original 1879 station, with additional platforms inserted in 2009, while magnificent buffer-stops date from Victorian times. The glass roof is one of the world’s largest of its type, while down below where the lost village of Grahamston once stood can be found a labyrinth of corridors and two disused platforms alongside the existing ones used by Argyle Line trains. More information can be found at www.glasgowcentraltours.co.uk
